Controls are components of the interface that allow a user to select choices and to type information. Some controls can perform the same function, however some controls are better suited for certain tasks. For example List boxes, Drop down lists, Combination boxes and Drop down combination boxes perform similar functions. However the List box and Drop down list only allow the user to make a selection from the existing values. do not allow the user to input information. The Drop down combination box and the Combination box allow the user to input information not contained within the list as well as be able to select from the existing values.
